Whether you are in a small school district with no HR department, or in a large district with an understaffed, overburdened HR office, TASPA can assist in providing the tools, strategies and approaches necessary to support effectively and efficiently your district's HR function with relevant and timely information on the trends in the public school human resources profession. The association disseminates this information through multiple means, such as email alerts, electronic newsletters and special reports, annual state and regional conferences, and the TASPA Web page.

TASPA dues are for a 12-month membership, of which ten percent funds the named scholarships for a prospective teacher in his/her junior or senior year at a Texas college or university. The remaining dollars from the membership dues fund the office and activities. For a list of member categories and associated dues, click here.

TASPA membership is an individual benefit regarding discounts to conference fees, access to the member forum on the website, and subscription to the TASPA newsletter. However, dues paid with district funds remain with the funding district. The district may re-assign the remainder of the 12 month membership to a different person, should the original member leave that district.  A membership paid directly from the personal funds of a member remains with that person. Membership fees to TASPA are not deductible as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes, but may be partially deductible as a business expense.

REPRESENTATION

Through its committee structure TASPA is there when you can't be, skillfully representing members' views and interests before the Texas Legislature, State Board for Educator Certification, State Board of Education, and Texas Education Agency.
