The TASPA
membership is an individual membership valid for 12
calendar months from the date of dues payment. TASPA is
incorporated as a tax exempt corporation under IRS Code
Section 501(c)(6). The organization's employee identification
number is 74-2626352.
Current
TASPA dues vary by membership category:
Dues: ($10 goes to the
scholarship fund).
Membership paid by the district stays with the ISD.
Membership paid by the individual follow those individuals.

Active. This membership category
is for school professional administrators with major
responsibility for school district personnel/human resource
administration or those whose assigned work is primarily
concerned with personnel/human resource functions in the
public schools.
Support Staff Associate. This
membership category is for those non-administrative public
school employees who are primarily concerned with
personnel/human resource administration. This includes
administrative assistants, certification clerks, benefits
specialists, and other staff in HR who are not administrators.
Professional Associate. This
membership category is for those who are associated with
employment in an educational environment, to include but not
limited to colleges or universities, state educational
agencies, law firms, other professional organizations, and
businesses/corporations whose representatives interact with
the public school community. Professional Associate membership
shall also be available to former Active members of this
Organization who, although no longer engaged in
personnel/human resource administration, maintain a position
in educational administration.
Retired. A retired member is
defined as a person not actively working in a position that
would place
him in another membership category, but who has been a member
of TASPA prior to retirement in any of the above categories.
AASPA
Active (Individual): Regular membership category for
individuals in school personnel administration with full
voting rights, office holding rights, and all benefits.
AASPA
Associate: Membership for people actively working at an
educational institution or enrolled in a graduate course of
study in educational administration or human resource
management. No voting or office holding rights but includes
all benefits.
TASPA
members receive timely email alerts on state agency news and
legislative updates, newsletters, and special reports
on key issues in personnel and human resource administration.
The membership also provides for a voice on personnel issues
before the Texas Legislature, State Board of Education, Texas
Education Agency, State Board for Educator Certification,
and among the members. There is also a reduced fee for members
attending the association's conferences and training sessions
developed to share information and develop skills in human
resource management. Ten percent of the member's dues goes
to fund scholarships for prospective teachers in shortage
areas.
